On Wednesday, August 21st, SOSAmerica2019 will launch its first official event in New York City, NY. We will gather in Madison Square Park at 5:30 p.m., where we will have a brief speech, followed by a direct action.

AS WE LAUNCH, WE WILL BE MAKING ONE THING VERY CLEAR: OUR GOAL IS SUSTAINED, DIRECT ACTIONS. THAT MASSIVE PROTESTS.

"When we say "sustained direct actions," we turn to examples from Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, and others. The incredible protesters in these places did not occupy specific spaces for long periods. Instead, they found themselves on the street again and again and again, each time in large numbers. After a massive protest, they returned home, regrouped, chose their next location and took to the streets again. These sustained and large-scale actions put continued pressure on their governments as the population demanded change. In the case of Puerto Rico, these actions led to the resignation of his governor."

Along with our launches in New York and Washington, simultaneous actions will take place in many other SOSAmerica cities. Soon, US cities will be regularly on the streets demanding that:

1- the criminal president of the United States and his administration resign,
2- we secure the vote in our 2020 election,
3- we immediately put an end to the dehumanization and the mistreatment of immigrants.

We need massive sustained protests to remove Trump and preserve the economic and environmental futures of our children. #SOSAmerica
