Venezuela’s Road to Literal Serfdom

The article is on the web pages of the Foundation for Economic Education and is worth reading especially for those who may think socialism is not such bad think. Yes, I know these people don´t care, but we who lived in the shit know. If you are interested in Venezuela, you can find other posts directly on Steemit.

Venezuela has the world's worst rate of economic growth, and the worst inflation rate. It has become like "a gangster state that doesn't know how to do anything other than sell drugs and steal money for itself." Socialism has virtually destroyed civilization in Venezuela making it seem like a "hurricane [has] swept things away."

And yet many folks claim that socialism didn't fail because "it wasn't really tried." Go figure...

Best I can figure out, the people who say that have a mental image of socialism as a tight-knit family or well-run classroom. They can't figure out why socialism can't scale. (Hint: "strangers.")

That's a great point, What I call "communalism" works in small communities where folks pitch in and help each other out , and doesn't work on a larger scale where there is no incentive for the takers to contribute and where there is no social price to pay for taking without contributing
