"Insane Clown President" Matt Taibbi and Chris Hedges in Conversation about Trump

in #politics7 years ago

A very, very, very, good book and a very, very good interview about Trump... just tremendous.

People are talking about it...they are...it's number #1 in the polls.

Nah, but seriously check out this very, very, very insightful look at Trump's presidential campaign.

MAtt Taibbi is the best. He really is. A. Great. Guy. A great, Guy...really.

"Every mechanism our mighty oligarchy had devised to keep people like Trump out of power failed." - MAtt Taibbi

Good video... thanks for sharing. I would have missed this if you hadn't shared it. This is some of what I was hinting at. ;)

You're welcome, it's a great interview. Looking forward to getting a copy of the book.

Edit: This may have been the first time I've seen Chris Hedges laughing and having a good time. So, it's almost worth it just for that.

I am waiting to see on Trump. I don't honestly know what he is going to do. I have some hints, but I don't like to speculate. I prefer to react to stuff that actually is happening.

I don't believe Hillary would have been better. I think she would have been worse.

Bernie might have been okay, I think he needs to actually talk to people and Sweden and places like that to get some of his facts straight on Socialism, because Sweden didn't actually get to be as in good a shape as they are due to socialism. They made sure to implement a free market and kept the government out of it. That changed within the last decade or maybe longer, but they went from struggling to immensely successful due to laissez faire.

Though I don't think Bernie would have done much damage, but I also don't know that congress would have let him accomplish much. On the otherhand, when he endorsed Hillary after he had rightfully referred to her as a criminal I had problems with that. I don't care how scared you are of your opponent, if you have plainly stated someone is a criminal then you shouldn't be endorsing them for president. I had big issues with that. It made me begin to question if he was a sincere as he seemed. Afterall he really only has ever been a politician, so I am not sure.

Anyway... this last election was a horrible selection to choose from. I do blame a lot of that on the media and pushing for those choices we ended up with. They will marginalize anyone they don't like. I'm a big Ron Paul fan and they basically censored him and even left his name out of things he won and would skip and talk about the people that lost to him. So the choices we ended up with. Thank the media for that. They made that bed.

What I see in President Trump is someone that loves America and loves people. He loves the American worker and has had enough of all the games politicians play. For an outsider to get in there needed to be someone with his brashness that got the media attention and put him in the spotlight. President Trump is a marketing and business genius. Take a look at Trump since 1980 and even see how consistent he has been.

Lol, nice Trump impression. Very good.

It reminded me of an old cartoon, where you see an old dog lazyin in the yard, and the anchor voice wonders, "Is this a watch dog?" So the dogs sits up and says, "Of course I'm a watch dog! I am full of ticks!!"
