It's hard to believe the French people would think that Macron is the answer. He's as obvious a corporate plant as I've ever seen. However what choice were they given? Le Pen stood up and said the things people were thinking and wanted to hear however she still her fathers daughter and will never shake the association, that was her downfall. Macron is going to be the scapegoat IMHO for a collapsing economy as his elite backers will ditch him when the SHTF with the French banks. Sadly then they may turn en masse to extreme right wing parties to stop the pain. That won't go well as they don't seem to want to give up on socialism regardless of it being an abject failure.
Who knows what could happen then? National Socialism?
The history repeats meme could be on the horizon for France, I hope not.
