The biggest problem with where our 'politics' are today is how we seem to misunderstand the purpose of a 'democracy'. It isn't to be at war with those you disagree with, but instead it is to build the best nation possible in spite of disagreement. Seeing our 5 'living' U.S. Presidents together, gathering to speak at a fundraiser for victims of recent Hurricanes, we see a Vision of Unity.

The messages that are shared by all of our Living U.S. Presidents are reminders of why we elected them to lead our Great nation. It's a nation that has never been perfect, but has a mission to 'work on' a more perfect union. That often requires confronting policies, systems and ideas of the past that need to be dismantled, destroyed, and discarded.

So much of what we often find ourselives arguing about today, are Old ideas. We are fighting over whether we should honor Civil War 'heroes', who were actually Traitors. We need to get on the 'same page' as a united states about who these people were. When too many people of our nation are dishonest with themselves about the kinds of Human beings the Civil War soldiers were, we all lose. Because it keeps a war going, that caused far too many causalities the first time around.

It was a war about Race, and how whites could Treat black people - make no mistake about it.

As people seek to defend these 'ideas' they often are dishonest in the process. They want to honor people who were actually dishonorable. They betrayed humanity, and committed great crimes that we are still reeling from today. They went unpunished, but their sins are still with us. In this current state, we are actually weak and susceptible to outside forces moving in. We continue to remain divided, with so many Americans refusing to see others as Americans.

It's too bad, that mother nature and catastrophic destruction is what it takes to get humanity to realize that we are all brothers and sisters. Sadly, there are people who benefit from pitting us at one another's throats. In the end, it's up to all of us to realize what is truth. Those who seek to push ideas of racism, white supremacy, and inequality have aligned themselves with evil.

There can be no Unity, so long as evil is allowed to persist. We are either working to create a more perfect union, or sitting back waiting for it all to fall apart.
