[Cool News] Tokyo Elects the -1st- Female Governor in History --- Times a changing boys!

Yuriko Koike entered politics after working as a TV Tokyo news anchor and is fluent in arabic and well spoken in English as well.

Due to her popluarity from TV, she made the switch to a governmental post in 1992. She's been in a number of positions and parties with in the government.

Without requesting the backing of her current party, she entered the Tokyo governer race regardless. During here campain, she stressed her environment-friendly image by wearing a green headband and asked her supporters to wear something green as wel.

In the Sunday election, She ended up beating the odds to defeat her two key top rivals to take over the role of running a city dealing with budget scandals and a citty that needs to prepare for the looming 2020 Olympics. It's going to monumental task to step and take charge to get this city of more than 13 million residents back on track.

And also use her new powerful position to implement new policies that no one has ever seen including providing better conditions and opportunities for women by fixing the issues with the lack of day care centter vacancies as well as better deal with elderly care to created a better "work-life balance”.

Living in Tokyo for a very long time.... my family and I feel very hopful Gov. Koike will actually make a a long term impact in a city that is full of so many possibilities to advance toward the future.
