Thousands of students walk out of school nationwide to protest gun violence

in #politics6 years ago (edited)

At thousands of schools across the country, from Alaska to Florida and everywhere in between, students walked out of class Wednesday to protest gun violence and to mark one month since a mass shooting in Florida.
The organized walkouts are unprecedented in recent American history. Supporters say the protests represent a realization of power and influence by young people raised on social media who have come of age in an era of never-ending wars, highly publicized mass shootings and virulent national politics.

My Thoughts On This News

These protests are fantastic, this is exactly what needs to happen when a government no longer does what the people want. What is even more fantastic is all these kids who are protesting will be voting very, very soon... and they will not be voting for corrupt politicians. All these corrupt politicians do is get money from their donors and behave like good little puppets, they don't dare say anything about gun control. All you ever hear them say is, now is not the time to talk about gun control, we have to send them our thoughts and prayers. As soon as these kids started speaking out they try to discredit them by saying they are too young and they don't know what they are talking about. Well they will be talking a lot more and they will be voting these puppet politicians out of office.
