Democrat Conor Lamb is the apparent winner of Pennsylvania special election, a district Trump won by 20 points!

in #politics7 years ago (edited)

At around 5:30 a.m. ET, NBC News reported that it appeared that Lamb had won. Only outstanding votes are about 200 absentee votes in Greene county and the provisional ballots that the district will count within the next seven days. Conor Lamb, a 33-year-old former prosecutor and Marine veteran, was expected to narrowly beat Republican Rick Saccone in Tuesday's 18th District special election. GOP groups poured money into the race to avoid a loss that may shake up November's battle for control of Congress.

My Thoughts On This News

It looks like people are getting tired of winning, are finally waking up and showing up to vote. Even with a gerrymandered voting system when enough people show up and vote we can take the government back from the corporatists who have bought it and create it to benefit themselves. This district voted for Trump by 20 points and the incumbent rep ran unopposed in the last two elections, and this Democrat was able to win, lets hope he does not turn out to be another paid for puppet and actually creates policies that benefit the majority of his voters. This is how democracy is supposed to work, vote and elect politicians that are not corrupt and will actually create laws that will benefit the majority. The failures of Trump and the Republicans have woken up the American people and they need to wake up with they want to take this government back to put in the control of the people and not the corporatists.

He might win...He might not...But at this red hot moment...He most certainly is NOT the apparent winner......Too many absentee votes left to count to make that spurious assertion.

How do you figure that...? He is winning by over 600 votes and there are less than 600 absentee votes left to count...
