The three wealthiest US families are the Waltons of Walmart, the Mars candy family and the Koch brothers, heirs to the country’s second largest private company, the energy conglomerate Koch Industries. These are all enterprises built by the grandparents and parents of today’s wealthy heirs and heiresses. These three families own a combined fortune of $348.7bn, which is 4m times the median wealth of a US family. Since 1982, these three families have seen their wealth increase nearly 6,000%, factoring in inflation. Meanwhile, the median household wealth went down 3% over the same period.

My thoughts on this news

The entire global capitalist economy is designed to make the rich richer and give them control of governments. Everyone who goes out and works a 40 hour week is getting cheated by the economic system we live in. All the labor you do, working at your job day after day, part of the revenue you generate from your labor goes up to the top of the pyramid to the wealthy. The wealthiest people of the world who are owners of these corporations, sit on top of their pyramid and do nothing, they simply collect the interests and dividends from the revenue and profits. The only reason they are able to collect those interests and dividends is because everyone else below them goes to work and trades their time for money. The entire system is a scam that benefits the wealthy and these statistics prove it. According to this article the wealth of the wealthiest American families increased by 6000% while the wealth of the average American decreased by 3%. Soon there will only be the rich minority and the poor majority.
