Assad vs "Rebels".
In Assad's Syria there are markets, night clubs, parties on the beach, Allewis, Christians etc. You can live good in Assad's Syria, almost Western. In "Rebel" Syria the public is under strict control, something as simple as smoking has gotten people killed and not from cancer but instead bullets or the knife wielding jihadist. There is no freedom in Rebel Syria. They are not fighting so that Abdul can walk hand in hand with Muhammad, or so that women can live free as in the West. They are not freedom fighters. They are islamic fighters, jihadists, terrorists. Rather than to allow change to come about peacefully and over time they decided to do a war, and in any case Syria would have moved towards Democracy and not Theocracy so this only forced the hand of islamists and their secret backers (USA/NATO, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey etc.)
It seems powerful Nations do not want a Syrian Democracy at this time, they prefer a crippled Syria, because they want to isolate Iran and thereby strengthen Israel's position. It is logical. But it is almost certainly illegal. Think of the tens of thousands of dead, the victims of head cutting Rebels, the victims of raping Rebels, the introduction of slavery. In Assads Syria there is no slavery, no mass raping of women, no genocide against Christians. If the Rebels are doing this now just imagine what they would do if they ruled all of Syria. Their current actions would become State policy. Assad may not be innocent but he is the obvious choice for the future of Syria. In any case it must be up to the Syrian people to decide who governs them and not foreign terrorists and their backers.

Is Assad a scumbag because you are a Sunni and you don't like Shias?
Is he a scumbag because all your friends most of which are probably of your background say so?
Is he a scumbag and the headcutters fighting him are your good scumbags?
Maybe you are unable to think past your 2 inch beard to understand that if Assad loses Syria will be a failed State, the next Afghanistan. Maybe this is what you want. In any case I wish the Syrian people peace.

His scumbag because his followers worship him like a god. Its the worse sin in religion. ISIS are the Biggest scum on this planet so dont think im one of them Sunnis that sympathise with them -_- i understand syria cant fall because thats the west agenda. But he should try and win his countrymen back other ways than killing them.
I suppose some people believe Assad is a scumbag simply because the Mainstream Media tells so. Or... they may have another agenda entirely - if Assad were to fall, then there is no-one to keep any would-be-terrorists in check. Syria was doing relatively well under Assad, as was Iraq under Saddam, and Libya under Gadaffi - all of whom are or were secular leaders.
Removing Saddam led to a total collapse of the region, and ultimately the rise of ISIS (whether they are supported by US/Israel/Turkey/Gulf States, or not). Removing Gadaffi led again to a total collapse of Libya, which had enjoyed one of the highest living standards in Africa. Of course, Libya today is a paradise for human traffickers and NGO's making tons of money, while on an agenda of destroying the civilized world.
