This is why I left politics. I may be in my twenties but I've had a fair share of experience to know that it's not the leaders we elect. It's The Institution.
However, in the uk our political groups are very adversarial with each other, having different views on many things. Cameron was pro remain, Boris pushed the whole brexit thing.
The number of shit Nigerians get from elected Presidents since 1999 increased exponentially despite each new President coming on with a healthy backing of the goodwill of the people only for him to fuck us harder than the previous one.
It's the politicians that are good at making people trust and like them that are the most likely to screw you.
Like that president in the phillipines who came across as a true brass tax, working class man... But now goes around on a quadbike shooting civilians and has control of all the media in the country since their Internet is owned by facebook.
People need to learn to vote for policies we agree with and not the people we like the look of.
