Yes, it is a shame to see parties/candidates sacrifice their values for electability. I feel that a lot of voters acted in this fashion during this last election; they may have disagreed with Trump or Hillary on several fronts, but they felt they had to vote for one just so that the other did not get elected. Of course, in lieu of potentially voting for a 3rd party candidate that perhaps they would have aligned themselves more closely with ideologically.
