Let's Talk About the Ridiculous and Endless Cycle of Taxes

in #politics7 years ago (edited)

Tax on tax on tax on tax...

If you feel like that describes your life, you're absolutely right. If you think all you pay is 25% income tax, you're absolutely wrong.

Let's take a look at the ridiculous, endless cycle of taxes:

  1. You get paid by company Y. The government takes a big chunk out of that.
  2. You use your money to purchase X from company Y. The government takes a big chunk out of that.
  3. Company Y earns revenue from your purchase of X. The government takes a big chunk out of that.
  4. You get paid by company Y from their diminished pool of taxed revenue. The government takes a big chunk out of that.

As you can see, we're back at the beginning. Did I miss any steps along the way? Probably.

This is just one closed loop, and the same money gets taxed three times. I haven't even accounted for the additional taxes you might have to pay like property tax or capital gains tax.

This is what happens when there are people out there who believe they have the right to rule.

When you have rulers, you do not own yourself.

You do not own your labour.

You do not own the products of your labour.

But the rulers are smart. They don't want us to realize that we aren't free, so they take just a little bit here and there. When you look at the big picture, those little bits really add up.

I don't know about any of you, but I'm tired of having rulers.

Let me know what you think in the comments!

Marxism (aka communism/socialism) is the term used for workers that own the companies and products produced, but god forbid we fall to communism (sarcasm).
In troubling times like today I wonder if changing economic systems would benefit the US more than capitalism does at the moment.

We don't need "systems." We just need people to mind their own business and stop taking what doesn't belong to them.

Touché my friend

Modern society is all an end-game strategy. We are above these childish politics, and when we realize that, maybe something good may come from politics again.

I was with you right until the end. I don't think we need politics and I don't expect anything good to come from that system. Let's just be free.

Thanks for commenting!

Until those days, I will stay dreaming (:

After all is said and done, I pay 46% tax. That's not including the companies that pay the tax on the money I give them. Considering the average Canadian only spends about 32% of their income on their basic needs of food, water, shelter, heat, etc, something has to change.

How 'bout we all keep what we earn? That's my idea for change :)

Great idea. And let's say if u want to spend some on paving the roads, then you can. If not enough people want to pay, then maybe we don't need that many paved roads.

time to move to Mount Kushmore lol

We need to have higher standards, yet we continuously allow ourselves to lower them by participating in the childish politics. The word politics has been tarnished, and we can restore its honor through honest practice.

This is a good video in laymen terms
