Discussing "Liberty in Maine" with Dr. Ron Paul
A few months ago, I had the great fortune to be a guest on Dr. Ron Paul' s "Liberty Report."
As I am getting to know everyone here in the Steemit Community, I thought many might be interested in checking out my interview.
Ron Paul has been a great inspiration for me in all my political work. I first for involved in 2011, serving as the Maine State Director for his Presidential Campaign.
When Dr. Paul retired from Congress, he passed on the liberty torch to us all to run with and that's what I've been doing every day since --- in my two terms in the Maine State Senate and in my current campaign for US Senate --- advocating for liberty everywhere and in every manner I can.

Truer words have never been spoken
I may have missed a word or two on the quote, but I'm glad that someone recognizes this.
That's the cycle. How sad to see, after eight years flouting the Constitution, the Democrat Party suddenly loves the Constitution? How sad to see, after eight years claiming to love the Constitution, the Republican Party never talks about it anymore?
I think it's a matter of each political party wanting to keep building, as if they were corporations trying to gain market share. They spin lies, call certain freedoms bad, and other freedoms good, and continue trying to build more and more laws, and gain more and more power.
I think us normal people know the simple truth.
Freedom is the important aspect, and anything that extends from freedom is an attempt to usurp freedom. Very few people understand the true power of freedom, where each person is able to live the life they want, without anyone else attempting to force them to obey.
This sort of anarchistic concept doesn't win elections, because it offers nothing, as it should.
It's always a negation of what other politicians and governments say or do.
The negation of government and authorities is freedom.
Less control over people means more liberty for each of us.
Thus why the battle for freedom must be brutally fought. There cannot be compromise with people who want to control others. The very act of control will lead to brainwashing the common person with propaganda, thus tricking them into handing away more of their autonomy.
Freedom is always destroyed by lies told by authoritarian religions and political parties.
To not understand this is to have been manipulated, thus why each oppressed person desperately prays, "Government or God, please save us."
