The production of marijuana in California is growing eight times faster than is necessary for consumption – based on AMarkets.
This was reported in its report by the newspaper LA Times.
Companies will have to slow the pace of production, but this will not be the most enjoyable process, said hezekia Allen, Executive Director of the California Association of marijuana producers, during a panel discussion.
In 1996, California became the first American state to which medical marijuana was legalized. In November, state residents voted to legalize possession of one ounce of marijuana for recreational use.
The result of the glut, said Allen, is that some grey manufacturers are beginning to export its product in other States that is illegal.
Seven States, including Nevada, Arkansas and Massachusetts, have legalized medical marijuana on election day last year. Overall, 29 States in the U.S. have legalized marijuana in one form or another at the moment.

Thanks for the update

Conversely the state is way behind in licensing so there are supply issues to get "legal weed". Massachusetts is also having supply issues for legal pot and dispensaries are getting a hefty price. Of course many will continue to buy on the black markets but many folks want to go the legal route. It will be interesting to see how all this pans out .
