BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is going to Bangabhaban tomorrow to discuss a dialogue with President Abdul Hamid on the question of formation of a search committee. She will lead the party at the meeting at 4pm at Bangabhaban.
The BNP chief will hand over the list of the party to the search committee along with a list of names. Likewise, if the President wants, a list of the 5-member election commission will also be given by the party. This information was found in the party related sources.
It is known that Begum Zia will offer the name of the three chief justice to the list of the head of the search committee. Apart from this, Begum Zia will hand over the retirement of the Appellate Division, a former bureaucrat, a former VC and a female member to the President as a member of the committee. BNP chief will finalize this list by talking to senior leaders today. The BNP hopes that the President will appoint at least two people from their list in the Search Committee.
According to the source, BNP Chairperson also gave a written speech highlighting the overall situation of the country. He will ask for a political compromise through the President there.
Apart from this, the request of the dialogue to be 'effective' and meaningful will be given to the President. In addition to the copy of the written lecture, Begum Zia will hand over the book with the 13-point proposal to the Election Commission to the President.
In addition to the BNP, four more parties - Jatiya Party, LDP, Krishak Sramik Janata League and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal - JSD have also been invited to the dialogue. In time, the other party registered with the Election Commission will also be invited to the dialogue.
According to BNP sources, BNP is seeing the dialogue as a 'test case' with the President about forming a search committee. If the presidential dialogue is effective, then the chief election commissioner (CEC) will also be named as the election commissioner. Later, the BNP chief will request another 'President of the government' to sit with him in the dialogue. After the election of Narayanganj City, he will formally present the outline of the election-time government.
In this regard, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told the daily, "Who are coming to the search committee, it is not yet finalized. However, the name of the search committee is being selected on the basis of our chairperson's suggestion on the reconstruction of the Election Commission. There are many names coming in different ways. Chairperson will finalize these. The government will soon be outlined by the helpline. '
According to sources, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is going to Bangabhaban under the leadership of Chairperson, Member of the Standing Committee. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Barrister Jamiruddin Sarker, Lt. General Mahbubur Rahman (ret.), Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, Dr. Abdul Moin Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. In addition to this, BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman, Major Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Retd), Ruhul Alam Chowdhury and Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed can also go to Bangabhaban. It is known that the list of 15 people increased from 10 today will be final. More than one member of the Standing Committee of the party said that BNP chiefly emphasized on Khaleda Zia's 13-point proposal. By sending a letter from Bangabhaban on December 12, the name of the 10-member delegation was asked for the BNP's dialogue. On Thursday, the list of BNP's 10-member delegation was sent to Bangabhaban without Khaleda Zia. Bangabhaban has agreed to list the names of five more on BNP's request. Today the list of those five members will be sent to Bangabhaban.
