The rise of the new right, from inside the left.

Have you noticed that the behaviour of some ANTIFA personnel is a bit right wing? That there is a sect within feminism known as feminazis? That Social Justice Warriors seem to act and behaves in ways that seem a bit fascist? These typically left wing liberals have spawned a generation more right wing then the right wing.

How has this happened? Are they all like that? Probably not. Most left wing liberals are still rational, sensible, coherent people. But western societies as a whole have moved rightwards. Since the Second World War and probably way before the right has been slowly and patiently working their way into most if not all sectors of society. A surreptitious infiltration, using what Napoleon would describe as a fifth column.

In doing so they undermine, divide and like a cancerous cell, destroy from within. Many, and this is the clever part, do so with the whole hearted belief that they are truly left wing. They fully support and subscribe to the beliefs they are attempting to uphold. Yet their actions and behaviour indicate otherwise.

This strategy is currently supported by very rickety foundations. But as they grow, so do the foundations. Their recognisable characteristics enable a wider social reaction that is supportive of the right wing. The reaction to their actions is as much a part of the strategy as they are. The echo chamber and reach of social media being the greatest avenue for displaying their outrageous tantrums, ridicules logic and violent behaviour. Enabling the right wing to stand there with a phone and video the event with an air of confusion, ridicule and justified self righteousness.

This gradual erosion or evolution of left wing ideology will invariably result in a more draconian set of reactive measures. Limiting further the freedoms of people and increasing the power of governing agencies. The left believe they are taking action required in the face of some very right wing developments. The right are enjoying the ease of the competition. Both are complacent to the consequences of their actions.

Ultimately, if it is a strategic manoeuvre of the right wing, then both sides will inevitably lose. The porns at the bottom of the pile will see freedoms diminish, costs increase and misery flourish. Both sides will blame the other, as they always do, both sides will dig deeper to defend their interests, as they always do and both sides will be afforded sufficient hollow victories to perpetuate the struggle they believe in, as they are and always have been.

It's classic divide and rule and every new generation falls for the same plays, in the same ways. Regular as clockwork. Fun to watch, sad to see.
