REALITY LEIGH WINNER: NSA WHISTLEBLOWER... OR SCAPEGOAT?

Oh where to start? Let's just start with that name right off the bat. Reality Leigh Winner... that sounds about as legitimate as Won Hung Lo don't you think? Miss Winner is obviously a smart cookie if what is posted about her on Wikipedia is to be believed. I will provide a short snippet from that posting below:

"Reality Leigh Winner was born in December 4, 1991 in Texas. She grew up in Kingsville, Texas, attending H. M. King High School where she excelled in athletics and tennis. She is a vegan, yogi and environmentalist who took in abandoned pets and sent gifts to children in Afghanistan

Winner served in the United States Air Force from 2010 to 2016, achieving the rank of senior airman with the 94th Intelligence Squadron. She worked as a cryptologic linguist, and is fluent in Farsi, Dari and Pashto. Winner was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.

Winner left the U.S. Air Force in early 2017, and was hired by Pluribus International Corporation, a firm that provides contracting services to the National Security Agency. On February 13, 2017, Pluribus assigned her to work at a U.S. military base in Augusta, Georgia. Winner was employed by Pluribus at the time of her arrest for unauthorized disclosure of classified documents on June 5, 2017."

I assume that one does not simply become a cryptologic linguist because they want to be. From what I can find out, you really have to be mentally sharp to do work like this and a person like this would not have been as careless as she apparently was in leaking this document as outlined in the Washington Post article below:

"The easy trail that led the feds to Reality Winner, alleged source of NSA leak"
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/06/06/the-easy-trail-that-led-the-feds-to-reality-winner-alleged-source-of-nsa-leak/?utm_term=.03a9a89b34ed

Also listed for your perusal is the document itself as published by The Intercept. Follow the link in the article to the actual document. I felt it was important to link to their original report of the document:

https://theintercept.com/2017/06/05/top-secret-nsa-report-details-russian-hacking-effort-days-before-2016-election/

Let us review what we know to this point:

  1. Reality Leigh Winner, a 25 year old U.S. Air Force cryptologic linguist leaked that N.S.A. document listed above to The Intercept in a very clumsy way as if she were dumb as a box of rocks.

  2. The document itself basically says that Russian hackers attempted to alter the course of the 2016 Presidential election, but were UNSUCCESSFUL.

When I step back and look at this for a moment on a very broad scale, I naturally have to question a few things.

  1. Is Reality Leigh Winner really a very smart Air Force cryptologic linguist or is she really just a dumb patsy?

  2. Do I trust anything provided by the N.S.A. to begin with? No I do not, but don't take my word for it. Watch the film, A Good American and listen to what the people who built the N.S.A. have to say about it.

Carle Finkelstein had this to say in an article posted by Business Insider:

"It was highly suspicious that the document was dated four days before Comey was fired. I suspect that whoever leaked it now was trying to facilitate Comey's conversation with Congress by putting a few more cards on the table"

This was supposed to be the smoking gun about alleged Russian election hacking, but in the end it just creates more questions and confusion than we had before. I am sorry, but I require more than a vague, alleged document from the N.S.A. that describes a failed Russian attempt at hacking. I do not trust them.

I thought it was bizarre that investigators said they found a handwritten note in her home expressing desire to join the Taliban. That makes no sense to me at all. Why would you have that written on a paper in your house?

Yeah, the whole thing is a sham I think. Thank you for your interest.
