What will be prohibited next after the balalaika?

in #politics7 years ago

Almost 70 years in the United States there is a ban on the sale of Russian musical instruments - balalaikas. In any case, Obama extended the taboo until 2020.
The history of the issue dates back to the prewar period, when the then head of the Washington administration, Franklin Roosevelt, signed a secret decree banning balalaikas on the territory of the country for a period of 10 years.

Today, the ban is kept in incomplete form. Playing a balalaika is not prohibited, although you need to have a special license for this. Mass sale of this tool and industrial production are not allowed. Single private sales are permitted.
It seems that this does not apply to our time, many strange and ridiculous laws have remained in the USA.
But according to the latest reports, mostly Ukrainian media, in the Latvian city of Ventspils, the Balalaika Ensemble from Russia "The Ryazan Harmonie" was arrested on stage during the concert.
"We played for the Russian-speaking community of Ventspils, congratulated women on March 8. It turned out that we violated two laws at once: the state - on the ban on the celebration of communist holidays and the city on the prohibition of balalaika, which was adopted on May 9, 2017. The police interrupted our speech and led We are off the stage," - the head of the ensemble Shmulevich said.
The police detained the Russians, as a result of which they were deported from the country with a five-year ban on entry.
I wonder how soon in Western Europe felt boots, a hat with ear flaps, a matryoshka and vodka will be banned in Western Europe?
If it goes that pace, then soon.
