The Republicans and Democrats are still spilling vitriol refighting the last election.

Queensberry rules

As things stand we have the FBI and Congress examining Russian involvement in the election.

At the end of the process, one suspects Donald Trump will still be president of the United States, whether one likes it or not. So one cannot help wondering what the purpose of the exercise is.

Of course the Democrats fought the election according to the Queensberry Rules - although the Democratic National Committee was not averse to stitching up Bernie Sanders.

Sinister stuff

US elections are not exactly pleasant and if the Democrats were not pulling out all the stops to dig as much dirt as they could on Donald Trump, they were not doing their job.

But while they continue to cry foul over the Russians, Donald Trump is persisting in perpetuating the myth that he won the popular vote. He did not.

Public money is being wasted on the Pence Kobach Commission which is trying to find evidence of widespread voter fraud.

According to Donald Trump, millions of Hillary Clinton's votes were cast by illegal immigrants. But challenged to provide proof - he has provided none.

So he set up a commission under Mike Pence and Kris Kobach which has spent the past few months demanding a mountain of information on voters.

Its wishlist includes social security details and party affiliation. This is pretty sinister stuff.

This is such a nonsense that Kris Kobach - the Kansas Secretary of State - has told Kris Kobach, the co-chair of the commission that he is unable to provide some of the information.

Mercifully the states - including many under Republican control, have - to use American parlance - told the commission to "take a hike".

Delbert Hosemann, Mississippi's secretary of state, has suggested that the commission could "go jump in the Gulf".

It is hard to tell whether the Kobach commission is just the opening salvo in a campaign of voter suppression or a sop to Donald Trump's vanity.

The jostling has already begun for next year's mid-term elections. Perhaps that should be the focus of political attention, rather than refighting 2016.

There is more going on then we are told. I see good things happening when this is all over. Slowly with baby steps DT will overcome.

Probably it's all just a big fat 'nothingburger' most likely!!

There was a study done in 2014 link here into non-citizens voting in 2008 and 2010 and came to the conclusion that there could have been close to 2,5 millions non-citizen voting during those elections.

That number is actually not that high if you factor in the actual Census data based on remittance payments to Mexico, which puts illegal numbers in the US somewhere between 20-30million, not the 11mil based on data from 2010.

Then there's also debate that went down before the election regarding voter ID, somehow it's discriminatory to request this when people come out to vote. Let's not forget that the majority of the Democratic Party supports letting illegals vote.

Lastly the US is not a democracy which is basically mob rule, it is a Constitutional republic. I really don't get why everyone keeps going on about the popular vote?

This link looks very interesting ... thanks for that @morkrock :)

No prob, great post thanks.

More politics soon .... :)

Someone was working with the Russian
We want to now who and they need to be punished
The republicans promised less government
Now they are asking all this private information very strange

Let us see where this rabbit holes goes @rudyrun ... nowhere good I'm sure!

I do not like Soros.

Your post is very interesting to follow, thank you for sharing, success always for you.

Politicians & diapers have one thing in common.
They both need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason.
