The Philosophy Of Political History: From Gorbachev to Trump.
Eras fall, eras rise
Most eras in history end when the majority of people don't believe the truth they tell themselves anymore. During the Cold War Mikhail Gorbachev finally realised that everything he'd been spoon feed as a child was junk status. He realised that history would look upon him more favourably if he rejected the murderous regime of the Communists. He knew it his heart he had to abandon it. There was no alternative for him.
Dictatorships like Communism can't survive on fear or the ingrained habits of its residents alone. The rulers must also justify themselves to the people, and when they fail to do this then those systems also fail. They no longer have a justification to exist in that position.
Full steem ahead
All Steemians on a daily basis crave for a more fairer and more democratic platform, so everyone can feel the sun on their backs as they make money or creatively express themselves in the comments section.
Sometimes on Steemit is can feel like we are sailing on a sea that is infinite and boundless, where is no harbour or ocean floor to guide us, no anchor, no destination and no starting point. The main aim of Steemit is to keep afloat and keep our ships pointing the right way up.
In this modern age of Trump, the stories that are being told by the conservatives sounds as hollow as the stories once told by the old Soviet Union itself. Pessimism and moderation is not something that is tolerated by the right. Trump hates all the checks of liberal democracy, and this goes against what presidential power was setup for in the first place. To make sure that no man held absolute power over everything.
Trumps believes that he can sail his boat in any ocean and dock at any harbour of his choosing, but this is not the way the world works. Sometimes we need to choose modesty as the best policy. Failure to do so will lead to long term intellectual flaws which will in the end lead to a catastrophic system ... just ask Mikhail Gorbachev!
