The Polish big dream

Poland's Prime Minister Beata Szydło is on a mission. She doesn't want Poland to be seen as the land of cheap labour where big companies come to increase their globalisation profits. She's aiming for a country that "gives everyone a chance" with a more balanced and fairer society.

Swapping out the old Communism model for a more global capitalistic one has cost Poland dearly. It has lead to the stratification of society along socio-economic lines, and deep poverty is endemic in some parts of Poland.

Many Polish families struggle to get buy, and on one recent visit to Jordanów, Southern Poland I witnessed a mother in a butchers shop who couldn't afford the luxury of steak - in steps @mindhunter to take care of the business. One cannot live on a diet of cheap tripe forever. Her smile told me of a country where wages were frozen and inflation was rising rapidly.

A chance for all

Szydło not only wants to turn this poverty around and return the state back to the people in just pure economic terms, but also as a fairer way of giving equal opportunity to all.

Her conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party which rose to power in 2015 wants to make Poland a fairer place where "everyone has a chance."

Szydło feels that for many years Poland has been treated as a source of cheap labour with no one doing anything about it. She aims to reinvigorate society with a link between science and business to allow a synergy where small businesses and entrepreneurs can prosper together.

Personally I feel Poland still has a long way to go as it emerges from Communism, and after nearly 20 years of capitalism you can still feel the old systems ingrained within the society there.

Szydło has many hard miles ahead of her to allow all the mothers in Poland to buy steak at the butchers. Do enjoy your steak if your having steak for dinner tonight.

God bless Poland and any Pole reading this.

Is it such a bad thing to be a country that has cheap labor? Examine Chinas rise to economic prominence and how it was boistered on the backs of the Chinese who made scant income as the GDP per capita skyrocketed during the 80s and 90s.
