The History of Today

in #politics6 years ago

Democrats and liberals often use the history of today to clarify things. One example of this is the persecution of Brett Kavanaugh for alleged sexual misconduct that occurred over 30 years ago based on an accusation with very little facts and a victim that has been hesitant to testify. All the while ignoring accusations of misconduct by fellow Democrats like Bill Clinton (whose accusations of misconduct are less than 30 years old) and those of Keith Ellis.

But there's a new case of the history of today at work. Last year Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein reportedly suggested he wear a wire to secretly record President Trump to gain evidence to aid in removing the president from office using the 25th Amendment. Effectively a discussion of a soft coup of our government. Former Deputy Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, during his time in office wrote memos documenting significant discussions he had with others. McCabe has come forward and stated that one of these memos verifies this story.

McCabe says when he left the FBI he left a complete set of these memos with the FBI. This memo could be the source of the original story if it were leaked somehow from the FBI, otherwise it makes for verification of the original story.

A Fox News source has said:

"I remember this meeting and remember the wire comment. The statement was sarcastic and was never discussed with any intention of recording a conversation with the president."
"Andy [McCabe] and the DAG didn't really know each other,"
"They were new to each other."

The acronym DAG stands for Deputy Attorney General and refers to Rod Rosenstein. This is where the history of today comes into play. The last statement is not true, it's a lie. Sadly, with very little journalistic effort by the Fox News reporter Jake Gibson and some questioning by the editors, the Fox News story would have been different. Between 2009 and 2015 the FBI investigated Russian activities in the U.S. uranium industry. This investigation was ultimately supervised by Andrew McCabe and Rod Rosenstein. In other words, if the Fox News reporting is correct, McCabe and Rosenstein worked together for years and hardly new each other. You can read more about this in the post The Uranium One Deal.

McCabe's memos were probably intended to be documentation for a book he intends to write in the future as justifying whatever history we have yet to unfold. Some bad actors have been removed from the Justice Department and the FBI, but I believe there are more still there. I also believe that McCabe and Rosenstein are two of those bad actors that have been and are working against the Trump Administration. My question now is why has McCabe seemingly turned on Rosenstein? I have no doubt there is more to this story that will eventually come out.

But for now it cast doubt the legitimacy of the Mueller investigation into Trump's alleged collusion with Russia, which has found no evidence to date by the way. Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller to his assignment with substantial bias against President Trump. Rosenstein continues to oversee the investigation with the same bias. In reality, the Mueller investigation should have never happened and should be shut down immediately.

But, gee, we haven't wasted enough time and money to call it quits yet. We haven't unearthed enough unrelated incidents in people's pasts to quit yet and we haven't ruined Trump.

This whole investigation is appalling. You have had many posts which point out the underlying conspiracies, lies, twists and dishonesty.......why does Congress allow this to continue.

Isn't it treason if they plot against the President?

Trump knows this shit goes on. For years he has been in training for this job....they make him sound like a newcomer but he was paying attention for a long time. He had a good view....from the ouside looking in. We need Congressmen who approach the DC swamp in the same clear, precise way as Trump.....it will take years to drain this quagmire.

And we pick on other Governments?..... talk about turning a blind eye.

To me the activities taken in the FBI and DOJ in general would when combined constitute an effort to oust the current president, a coup, which I would consider treasonous. I also believe we can help matters a great deal by saying "screw the politics" or "screw how this looks" and start enforcing our current laws. Start handcuffing some of these people and walking them out of their offices in Washington even if it's just for questioning and things will change pretty quickly.

We should also take a look at the law against threatening the President. When some Hollywood type makes a statement on television that would be considered threatening, handcuff them and walk them downtown, again, even if its just for questioning. Liberals would say this is a method to silence opposition, but you can oppose someone without threatening bodily harm.
