The Rise of a New Subculture: Hedonist Bitcoin Meme Magicians

in #politics8 years ago

Here is what mainstream political commentators don't see- the emergence of a new subculture of hedonist nerds who are libertarians or support Trump or Sanders. We were politically silent before because we only cared about making dumb jokes on forums, playing video games, and/or watching anime. However, Gamergate provided us with a springboard to gamify real life.

That was mindblowing to us that powerful people took our self-referencial inside jokes seriously. So what we do? We make the joke even bigger than ever and get excited out of our minds every time we seek our inside jokes broadcasted on TV or written about in newspapers seriously. This brings a better high than any drug in the world. Every act of the mainstream media freaking out over memes feeds our hedonistic dopamine pleasure centers. We are meme addicts. To acquire more lulz, we take the jokes even further to see what even more ridiculous things can happen. Can we troll Trump to turn real life into an anime? It looks like that is happening. We are all giggling out of our minds that serious people are freaking out over our memes making our gaming dreams come true.

This is all thanks to Elon Musk and Neil deGrasse Tyson popularizing the simulated reality theory. Gamers have realized that we can truly play real life as the greatest sandbox RPG. Memes represent the glitches and mods that make the game hilarious. And just like game developers banning hackers, modders, and people who abuse glitches, of course they want to modify the code (laws) and demonize those who game the system. We realize that code is the new law, which makes us so enthusiastic about Bitcoin as well.

Thus, we side with the hackers to fight against the people who are in charge of making the laws today. We seek to program the world with our own laws that make life much more entertaining to live. After all, each person plays the hero character of his own virtual reality video game.

This is just like the 60s psychedelic political revolution. Hedonists who experience alternate states of perception are taking over the political discourse and the people who seek to conserve the previous generation's way of life can do nothing about it other than banning the altered states of consciousness. Unless video games and virtual reality are banned just like LSD and shrooms were banned, this political revolution will go on.
