Without Transparent Pricing, Health Care Systems are Doomed

in #politics7 years ago

Bottom Line, the U.S. Healthcare System is the worst of all worlds. It’s a heavily regulated third party managed system with a totally opaque pricing system that gives the consumer NO agency nor any of the information required to exercise it.

Basically if you wanted to design a system that gave everyone the incentive operate against the consumer’s best wishes and disempower the consumer from doing anything about it this would be it.

Yes, I can find more positive things to say about other countries’ health care systems but they are still far from ideal.

Ideal world, consumers have more agency, prices are transparent to allow consumers to make decisions and third parties are limited to only extreme situations not making every life and death decision for you.
