Today marks the end of something that is an incredible loss to the American people.

The laws that were preventative action toward speed blocks and full on blocks to websites were abolished by the FCC. Today is supposed to be the day that the American people take a loss and the corporations take a win. A copy of the order to abolish net neutrality was published within the federal reserve and set to unravel today, April 23, 2018.. According to what I read this entire loss has been put on hold. LUCKILY we still hold net neutrality... for the time being... andthe date that it will (or will not) be abolished has been undetermined as of now. BUT WE DON'T HAVE A TIGHT ENOUGH GRIP. We fear the powers to be and they control us with that fear.
Net neutrality
Net neutrality is the principle that governments should mandate Internet service providers to treat all data on the Internet the same, and not discriminate or charge differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication. For instance, under these principles, internet service providers are unable to intentionally block, slow down or charge money for specific websites and online content.
The entire system has been compromised. We have 23 states filing suits for repeal against this act. The American people aren't happy according to social media. Why are we taking another hit to freedom when the country obviously does not want these actions to take place. Not to mention those who are ignorant to what is happening. The people just roll over and let these corporations fuck them in the ass. I do not understand how long it will take for the American people to open their eyes to these concepts, but we are taking a beating from our government. It seems as technology grows we fall victim to those who grow it or those who regulate it. Being one step ahead of the game is necessary when it comes to these things. As we grow through this technological revolution, we will face hardships with technology and politics along the way.

We didn't have any problems before net neutrality went into effect. I don't foresee any problems when it goes away. New government regulations are rarely a good thing and the problem with this law (like most others) is in the details. This wasn't a simple rule like "thou shalt treat all traffic equally". If it were, maybe it would be ok. But like other laws, net neutrality regulations are chock full of special interest concerns and other things having nothing to do with "neutrality".
In addition, existing FCC regulations would serve to prevent any serious abuse regardless of Net Neutrality regulations.
I sure hope that is the case. It looks as though we walk a thin line with the internet. I can feel a bit of a grasp and I don't like it. A mountain of paperwork full of lawyer talk always tends to make me nervous. I can see where there is a ton of money to be made by the appeal of net neutrality. As usual it isnt in the interest of the people :(
