I just goes to show that the religion of The State reigns supreme. Assange's sin was revealing the nature of The State, and instead of addressing that nature, dissent must be silenced. It's like criticism of Bush, Obama, and now Trump has resulted in the non-response of, "Well if you don't like it here, leave!" It's a reaction to protect their ideological indoctrination from any challenge.
