Apparently employees at federal prisons are being forced to work without pay, as are TSA employees and IRS employees. I am finding it difficult to muster any sympathy for people whose careers are not only funded by theft, but whose jobs also inflict injustice upon innocent people as an unavoidable and necessary aspect.
If there is no victim, there is no crime. If there is no crime, punishment is a criminal act. Even if there is a crime, justice demands restitution to the victim, not incarceration of the criminal at the expense of the victim and everyone else. There is no justice in the justice system.

The TSA has turned air travel into running a gauntlet that should offend the sensibilities of anyone with even the most vestigial sense of liberty. Even if we set that aside, though, it objectively fails to provide anything more than an illusion of security at great expense and inconvenience. Gate rape and porno-scanners should not be tolerated by a free people, period.
The IRS is perhaps the biggest racketeering organization on the planet. "Pay whatever we demand, or else." Get an honest job, and stop sending innocent people through the wringer of the "Justice" System.
The fact that government services must be monopolized and funded through extortion indicates one of two things: gullible people were suckered into surrendering a market service to state control generations ago, or the market doesn't really want the service in the first place. In either case, end the shutdown theater and actually kill the beast once and for all. We don't need it. Parasites need a host, but the host can only flourish when the parasite is dead.
@jacobtothe I know there are people who need food stamps but I think for the most part it is abused,, I stand in line to pay cash for my cheap greasy hamburger meat and a loaf of bread, the lady ahead of me is talking on her 800 dollar phone and buying snow crab legs and lobster and pays with food stamp card. I work many days and get no pay, I even go in the hole by working when you count the fuel I burn and do not catch anything. Waiters and waitress's work for very little pay. And no one cares but when government employees don't get paid the world is in shock, and they will get their money just not right now. they will get it in one big check. ok my rant is over.
There are certainly examples of abuse, and people who use government to offset the discomfort they would otherwise feel for financial irresponsibility. Those who actually need help would likely get help by voluntary means, but those with responsibility problems as you describe would need to grow up fast.

The IRS has me so mad. The whole system is screwy.
I can buy a piece of property, build things on it, make a life on it, own it outright, but, if I dont pay the amount of tax money they demand, they can take it away from me, just like that.
Dont get me started on the ACA. I just did our taxes last night. Guess who is paying $700 because she cant afford health insurance?! Yup. Me.
So many things I could do with that $$....
But your benevolent masters know what's best for you, as they sit in their marble halls in distant capitol cities, living off their plundered wealth, never having to earn a cent through manual labor or voluntary trade...

STOPMan this government shutdown thing is crazy. Im still a little young so i dont know to much on it but to not pay people is ridiculous to me. And the irs is just a huge pain in the ass. Demanding money that must be paid when people are out here struggling....
Food is put on the table of government emoloyees only by taking food off the table of taxpayers. There is no consent in the system when it is funded by extortion, and thus no legitimacy to the earnings claimed.
Also food stamps! Like there getting cut off. A lot of people depend of food stamps to support their family, kids! This is gonna be a real issue, and could possibly start riots and serious crimes
We need an alternative to food stamps. Government programs like that become a chain to yank when government goons want to get more power, like in the current shutdown theater.
I 100% agree with you. Hmmmm. Just what could the alternatives be. (Dont want you to answer that hehehe) just saying. Maybe like a program to where u get a good discount on food items somehow. Idk... Thats not supported by the government but maybe a better cause.
There are discount grocers here where I live. Food banks and community dinner organizations also work to help those in need. The duty of the church is to help the poor. The taxes that fund these government programs are always bundled into the final consumer price, so that disproportionately impacts the poor on everything. It's not like there is a shortage of answers or potential avenues for independent solutions.
Maybe, just maybe people will realize how much these jobs need not exist, and then maybe, just maybe people will realize how they should be productive contributors instead of blood sucking parasitic leeches and quit their immoral "jobs."
