but all we need is like, 3% of the population to wake up?? we've gotta be close to 3% if not more already. this is just based on viewcounts of certain youtube videos though...
edit: that was in the late 1700's...maybe we'll need more than 3% now given military tech and what we're NOT ALLOWED to own. fun fact: there were privately-owned cannons and privately-owned warships with cannons in the revolution.
we need 3% of the people, not just 3% of the awake. the ones who are awake still refuse to withdraw their support and association from the slaves. if the most intelligent and informed of us just didn't go to work, and stopped giving advice to friends and family for one week, all the idiots would show themselves to be what they are, and maybe we'd get some respect. i, personally, quit. when people i know present me with their catastrophic, self created dilemmas, now i just smile and tell them they are going to have to work it out for themselves. this may be harsh, but why should i give them good advice when they do not listen when it comes to actions they can take that will be beneficial to others as well.
my only goal now is to continue to teach and learn with the people who are intelligent and desire real knowledge enough to make the effort.
ahh ok, yes, forgot about that. awake AND active.
though...i can understand if they've tried, only to be met with ridicule, scorn, smug indifference, or just straight up ignored. like, if you can't even wake up the people that are close to you, why even bother with strangers? still, i try with my family, even though they mostly just pretend to listen and try to change the subject -_-.
well, if you ever start something online, like a youtube channel or forum or something, I'd be happy to contribute :) then again, maybe reaching out to the masses isn't the way to go...i dunno
the people you are close to are the most difficult to wake up. i still try to wake people up, but when they have demonstrated that they don't want to make the effort to educate themselves further. that, in effect, is them declaring themself my enemy. if someone tells you they can be bothered to do what is right, and it affects all of our lives, what is that?
when i was a kid, i was taught that the opposite of love is not hate, but is not caring. not being willing to make the effort to educate oneself is the worst thing that i can think of that someone can do to me.
the best method of self defense i have found, is to stand back and let people who don't want to make the effort, fail.
as far as reaching out to the masses, i have found more like minded people on steemit in 3 months than all the rest of my life. for instance, your interest in the trivium and quadrivium makes all of the effort i've ever expended, in my life, worth it. so, thank you.
