Issues We Cannot Let the Dems Have

The Two Issues We Cannot Give Away

The Abortion Issue

Abortion. This is a word I wish I'd never heard and an issue I wish I'd never heard of. There may actually be states in which abortion is a winning issue for conservatives and Republicans… But in Virginia, all I ever saw it do was get good candidates for public offices defeated by vermin and, ultimately, turn the entire state blue. I assume the situation is similar in many if not most of what we call swing states.

Worse, I have no mental picture of the issue ever flipping a blue state; Kind of like gravity which only assists things in moving downhill...

The abortion issue is primarily responsible for keeping The Democrat Party alive the past 50 years. Their NEA and inner city and envirowhack constituencies are not enough to keep a major political party rolling. Women, on the other hand, are 51% of all voters, everywhere on earth. It is the one issue that Democrats will go to war over.

Not that Roe/Wade was ever a reasonable or even legal Idea. The United States is not ancient Israel and our Constitution does not call for us to be ruled by judges. US judges are not supposed to be writing laws or dreaming up new kinds of civil rights off the tops of their heads.

The issue is part of a bigger problem. You have to ask yourself why our elected officials want no part of determining such issues. There is a mathematical law of large numbers that strongly mitigates in the direction of many of our elections being close. Anything one of our professional politicians could do involving a major contentious issue will be likely to get 48 or 49% of the voters unhappy with him. If he then gets another three or 4% of voters angry for any reason, he might have to find a real job… He is therefore very much more inclined to pass those issues off to judges and/or bureaucrats who behave like satraps and are generally unaccountable to the public. The situation is worse when bureaucrats and people like Bill Gates and Antonio Fauci manage to get away with claiming to be “experts” in subject areas.

Women need to understand that the issue is basically phony. Worst possible case from a Democrat point of view is that some woman living in South Dakota who ends up driving or taking a bus to New York City more than one or two times for abortions might decide that she’d be better off living in New York City and not come back. Now, that woman might think that conservative ideologues had disrupted her life; but there is no way that any group of conservatives could disrupt her life as badly as a hydrogen bomb would disrupt it or as the total ruin of our economic, energy, and agrficultural systems would disrupt it.And those are the kinds of troubles that democrats specialize in...

Donald Trump tried to put an end to stupid wars. Nonetheless, aside from stupid wars like Afghanistan and Iraq, there are evil wars such as the NATO assaults on Serbia and Libya. Democrats and bad actors from the deep state love those kinds of wars and start as many of them as possible. Women should understand that when they vote for Democrats because of the abortion issue, they are not only putting our own nation at risk of a war which we might not be able to win, but they are visiting immense suffering upon people in other areas of the world which have done nothing to deserve it.

Likewise, conservatives should understand that when they attempt to pass draconian laws dealing with this kind of issue, they are placing power in the hands of Democrats.

The evil of abortion has to be weighed against the evil that power in the hands of Democrats causes.

One also notes that draconian laws in general have a bad history. They include prohibition, the failed "war on drugs", the 55 mph speed limit on highways which was finally shown to put lives in danger, the insane "zero tolerance" laws in schools and all the grief they cause, school bussing laws, and any number of others. To my knowledge, nothing good has ever come of any of them.

And the hell of it is that a reasonable law that 95% of the American people could live with would probably not be that difficult to come up with. That is, if the will to devise a national law was there. Main points of such a law would include:

    ·
  • No federal funding for abortions.
  • ·
  • No late-term abortions for anything other than medical necessity..
  • ·
  • No abortion for the purpose of sex selection.
  • ·
  • No profiting from abortions nor any commercial use of tissue or other products derived from aborted babies.
  • ·
  • Plan B would remain legal. That is birth control and not abortion.
  • ·
  • Abortions for cases of rape or genetic compromise would remain legal other than for cases of late-term abortions. Conservatives must avoid political suicide. Telling anybody that they have any kind of a duty to bear children for rapists is, of course a formula for political suicide. But the main problem involves genetic compromise and defects. 70 Years ago when families of six or eight children were normal, a down syndrome child was not the end of the world. In today's world in which a typical family is more like 1.7 children, a down syndrome child, particularly as a first child, could easily represent the end of the family. Again, telling all of America's married couples that they either are or should be one bad pregnancy away from being criminals is a formula for political suicide.

There is another thing that we need to do in order to get rid of the 95% of abortions that should not be happening. That is, we need to once again make it both socially respectable and economically feasible for American citizens to marry and start families in their late teens as humans are designed to do. That might involve some sort of welfare for young families, but it would still be a bargain compared to what we are doing now. In fact, that appears to be the direction in which Russia, Hungary, and other nations are moving, after deciding not to participate in the globalist grief that too many Western European countries are experiencing.

All this could take the form of a national law or it could simply take the form of a statement and policy of the Republican party. The overwhelming priority is to totally defuse the abortion issue and get it out of American politics for all time. More than anything else we could do, that would tend towards the destruction of the Democratic Party and go a long way towards eliminating the threat of a second Civil War that we are now faced with.

The Student Debt Issue

In my view, we cannot afford to let the dems have this issue. The problem is the combination of compound interest and the sweetheart deal the banks have by which nobody can ever declare bankruptcy over student loans.

A reasonable solution would allow borrowers who had paid as much as the original principle of a loan to declare bankruptcy if that was the only out; for a lot of them, it is.

If we can get these two issues defused within the year starting from late summer of 23, we can probably win. Otherwise I'd not give much for our chances.
