Dire food situation likely

Dire Food Situation

To my knowledge, there has never been a real famine in North America since Europeans came here. But that is not for lack of effort, i.e. they appear to be working on it.

Putin and the Russian military have destroyed the deep-state's little gangsterism (money laundering, child-trafficking, drugs, bioweapon labs etc.) playground in Ukraine. Aside from everything else, this will leave Russia in command of many if not most of the main choke points of the worldwide Food Systems. Given that, you would think that a reasonable and decent American president would try to maximize US food production... Breadline Joe Biden is trying to MINIMIZE it.

Either by direct order or as a consequence of his mandates, US president Breadline Joe Biden has caused America's major railroads to stop shipping fertilizer precisely at the beginning of Spring planting season. Nitrogen fertilizers are heavy and cannot be shipped via truck or, at least cannot be shipped via truck in an economically feasible manner.

This comes at a very untimely moment because we are currently in the midst of the spring growing season, when fertilizer is a vital component in our ability to raise crops. CF said they “would be unable to accept new rail sales involving Union Pacific for the foreseeable future.” CF is one of 30 companies to face such restrictions.

What will the result of this be? In some corners, the belief is this could prove catastrophic, as the United States is already facing food shortages (been to the grocery store lately?).

Given all of that, a lot of people are scratching their heads when they read about major US food distribution and processing centers burning down and blowing up all over the map:

"Food plants burning. Is this all planned?"

Russia and Ukraine jointly supply about a fourth of the world’s wheat exports and, as I read it at least, more than half of the exports of nitrogen fertilizers.

Breadline Joe says:

“With regard to food shortages, yes we did talk about food shortages. And it’s going to be real,” Biden said at a press conference in Belgium after attending meetings of NATO and G7 leaders.

“The price of these sanctions is not just imposed upon Russia, it’s imposed upon an awful lot of countries as well,
including European countries and our country,” Biden said.

Translation into plain English:

You and your spouse, your children, your dog and your cat and even the birds and squirrels in your yard are going to have to tighten your belts to try to help that sick pervert Zelenski and his Bandera-Nazi army.

There is a possibility if not a likelihood of the US facing a dire food situation within a couple of months.

My advice: Keep a few 5gal pails of wheat and rice around, enough to go for a year without grocery stores being open. Chinese grocery stores like the one on Belaire Blvd in Houston sell soy sauce and cooking wine and what not in gallon jugs, good to have a few of those around as well.

US Rail Carriers Are Cutting Fertilizer, Grain, Coal Shipments Because of Biden’s COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate

BNSF, like Union Pacific, emphasized a major attributing cause to its service disruptions as being staffing shortages.

The firm’s reply to the STB stated that at the beginning of 2021, BNSF had almost 3,000 train, yard, and engine staff
on furlough, but has since reduced that number to 450.

November of 2021 reporting by Freight Waves revealed that both BNSF and Union Pacific were in a fight with major labor unions over the implementation of a September Joe Biden Executive Order mandating COVID-19 vaccination for all employees.

Serious Rail Service Disruptions of Grain Deliveries by Union Pacific (UP), Burlington Norhern Santa Fe (BNSF) and Norflok Southern (NS)

March 24, 2022
For example, at rail origins,National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) members are unable to purchase grain from farmers because they are full while awaiting loaded trains to be moved out by the railroad. Conversely,

at rail destinations, NGFA members have run out of grain and have been forced to shut down flour mills and feed mills
and cut off sales to customers while awaiting grain deliveries. In some instances, it has left NGFA members unable to deliver feed to livestock producers that may not have alternative feed sources. In an effort to continue service for customers during the rail service disruptions,

NGFA members have done as much as possible to keep animals fed, but the ability to stretch resources is exhausted and growing more tenuous with each additional day of service delays.

CF Industries: Union Pacific Curtails Fertilizer Shipments, Delaying Deliveries and Preventing New Rail Orders from Being Taken April 14, 2022

CF Industries Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CF), a leading global manufacturer of hydrogen and nitrogen products, today informed customers it serves by Union Pacific rail lines that railroad-mandated shipping reductions would result in nitrogen fertilizer shipment delays during the spring application season and that it would be unable to accept new rail sales involving Union Pacific for the foreseeable future. The Company understands that it is one of only 30 companies to face these restrictions.
