History & Etymology
The word collusion began it’s life innocently enough as a compound of two Latin words com- meaning “with or together” and ludere meaning “to play”. The latin word collusionem literally meant to “play together, or into eachothers hands”, but it never appears to be have been used that way even in Latin it still had the modern definition.
In the 14th century collusion entered the English Language from Old French.
