RE: Why do we hate ?

in #politics7 years ago

Mainstream media is in a situation unlike any that existed before the internet; they had almost total control over the narratives they spun, simply because there was no real way for people to easily look at the evidence and set the story straight by interacting with those involved, even if you were suspicious it just made you look like a conspiracy theorist as it was much harder to find evidence.
The business strategy of mainstream media is becoming obselete, they can't get away with painting an idealistic picture of the world based on what their sponsors and their target audience wants to see. Thanks to the internet, almost anyone can do their own research into the evidence and publish their conclusions with just as much validity as mainstream media, it seems almost like the mainstream media is in denial about the fact that now anyone with an internet connection has access to the sources; they're still using a business model that rewards stretching the truth in an environment where people are not only sick of the increasingly obvious lies but are welcoming alternative media as a breath of fresh air; journalism that isn't the result of pandering and coercion. The point is, the mainstream media are in trouble because they still have massive networks to try and maintain all while the very foundations that these organisations were built upon are crumbling beneath them.
