Brexit - A Brief Summary

In a bid to relax the rules of trade and freedom of movement, goods and services between European countries in 1973 Britain entered the then European Economic Community. For many Britons it sounded like we should at least give it a try. This sentiment was confirmed in the 1975 referendum on our membership, in which 70% of Brits voted to remain a member of the club.

However, what my parents and grandparents didn't vote for was a political union. By 1993 the European Economic Community had changed to the European Community which then became the European Union (EU). By this time the institutions of the EU had become vastly powerful and interventionist. The EU were not only making a plethora of laws they were also interpreting them with their European Court of Justice. Britain's law making powers were being extensively eroded, as was Britain's independence. And did our government bother to check with us that it was alright for them to sign us all up to this arrangement? No.

We couldn't manage our own immigration, and by 2004 we had to let in anyone who was a resident of the other 27 member states. Mass migration is not a good thing for any country. But of course that is precisely what the globalist elites want. The EU is a great tool of control for the globalists.

There is at best one third democracy built into the European Union, in practice it's even less. Therefore for the most part it is a dictatorship. Apparently I am illiberal because I voted to leave a dictatorship. In fact I am also a bigot and a racist for voting to leave this dictatorship cleverly known as a union. How can any right minded liberal claim to be liberal when they are demanding to be part of a dictatorship? What has happened to these peoples' minds?

Sort:

Well I for one am happy to see Brexit, not to divide but to unite.
I don’t know whats wrong with people these days living in some sort of delusional belief that one needs to be part of some dictatorship or where a country has no sovereign rights to protect its culture or history.
These days peope want to rewrite history rather than learn from it.
I don’t believe in this one world order or this world citizen.
The elite wanted to erase the history and culture of what actually made the country.
I wish those well in the exit from the European delusion union, stop telling countries who they have to acccept, and let the country do what’s best for themselves.

I couldn't agree more with you @buster544, every word you say is entirely true and you put it so well. If only there were more out there who could see the deception that is going on and move away from this hidden globalist agenda.

They seem to be using a delay tactic, thinking we'll just forget what we voted for.

We will not forget. And if they don't deliver the Brexit people voted for they will provoke chaos and civil unrest on a scale Britain has never witnessed before.

1st!

Thank you sir!

The best thing of all is that pan-Europeanists don't know how to handle their impotence, they are so absurdly dictatorial that it bothers them if only someone contradicts them, and now that the United Kingdom did, they seek to obstruct the whole process. They are pathetic.

Damn I missed your comment, apologies about that. Yes you are totally correct. The Europhiles have received a massive shock with Brexit and their system of dictatorship has been weakened. The European Union is such a corrupt club that it comes as no surprise that they seek to obstruct the process of Brexit.

thats a first. people always running from dictatorship and they want that damn the world moving backwards

gracias por la informacion

Let's face it: Brexit is just the underlying sentiment that most brits have as being specials... Like they are superior because back in the day they we're ruling the 7 seas. IMHO Brexit is disgusting because creates second and third class citizens without even taking into the account what the do for the country.

We just don't like our governments selling our country to foreign powers and pretending to us it's in our best interests. If you feel second or third rate in a host country then that is an issue for you.

Something that is never forgotten!!

good politics

From your expression on the post i could feel the unhappiness of having to live a life that you re not comfortable with and such is the outcome of dictatorship. Am not in Europe but, i would not support any person or people being denied the right to govern them self. Well, i can only wish you all the best from here
