All the News That’s Fit to Print? Stephen F Cohen on Media Malpractice
Stephen F Cohen, professor emeritus of Russian Studies and Politics at NYU and Princeton and John Batchelor continue their weekly discussion of the new Cold War.
They are always important to listen to but I feel that this week's episode is essential listening from start to finish. Whether you are a media student or just if you're concerned about how mainstream media malpractice shapes the Western narrative in what it chooses not to publish as much as how it micromanages what it does publish. It's very significant that the New York Times and the Washington Post (and other mainstream news outlets) have chosen not to publish news of the December 12 National Security Archive documents on NATO expansion. Even I managed to share at least three different posts about it when it was released. The interview also includes substantial counter-arguments to those defending NATO expansion and concludes with advice on where to seek the information and analysis people need at this time when the mainstream is suppressing vital information.
