Business Insider attempting to defame Elon Musk

in #politics2 years ago

I like Elon Musk because he seems like the kind of person that thinks for himself on individual topics rather than just towing the line of some sort of political team. There are very few people that do this, let alone extremely rich people.

Business Insider on the other hand is a media company that used to focus on purely business-oriented things but over the years they have become more and more political and just like most of the rest of the media, they have become a mouthpiece for leftist ideals.

There is no doubt in my mind that BI is deciding to try to attack Elon Musk right now because of the half-assed debate about his attempted acquisition of Twitter. While there is nothing wrong with a very very wealthy person trying to get a hold of a company like Twitter, because Musk at times appears to think in a conservative way, he is therefore an enemy and must be stopped.

Recently BI published an article that talks about how Musk backed out of a philanthropic project that he was discussing with Bill Gates because according to the texts between the two Musk said"I cannot take your philanthropy on climate change seriously."

Now to be fair to Business Insider they do actually give context way down in the article that most people probably don't make it to where Musk explains that the reason why he can't take Gates seriously on climate change is because Gates had a half a billion dollar short against Tesla. Basically gambling for the company's failure or drop in value.

There is also nothing wrong with this and people play the stock market like this all the time. Must probably has some shorts out there as well.

The problem that I have with this article is that most people are not going to read the actual article and are just going to read the blurb and headline where they talk about try to pain the picture that Musk doesn't believe in climate change.

This is exceptionally dumb because Musk owns Tesla, which has been a pioneer in attempting to eliminate carbon emissions on vehicles on a very large scale. There is no other company that has done as much as this as far as electric cars are concerned but it is impossible to say that Musk is some sort of dirty climate-change-denier, which is exactly what they are trying to do.

The good news is that Musk is no stranger to this sort of treatment in the media because he doesn't align with the leftist groupthink mentality. He doesn't really seem to care if he is attacked in the media and for the most part, he has a much larger audience than most political pundits and publications anyway.

He also has a sense of humor that doesn't skip anyone. I have no idea if he really doesn't like Bill Gates or not but the above Tweet would indicate that their relationship isn't exactly one of "best buds."

Business Insider does in-fact do their due diligence when they report but they are also probably extremely aware of the fact that most people are not going to read entire articles and simply read the headlines. In this regard they are intentionally trying to mislead people and that make them dumb.
