Amazon Didn't Pay Taxes. Again

in #politics6 years ago

How much did you pay in income taxes for last year? more than you expected? how much did you make?

Did you earn $11 billion in profits? No, didn’t think so. That’s why you had to pay. Because apparently if you make $11 billion in profits, like Amazon did, you don’t pay anything.

That’s right. Amazon didn’t pay any federal income taxes for last year. Or the year before that.

As the week reports,

“The company will not be required to pay the standard 21 percent income tax rate on its 2018 profits, and is claiming a tax rebate of $129 million, which ITEP describes as a "a tax rate of negative 1 percent.””

So instead of paying taxes, Jeff Bezos gets a negative tax break. Imagine that.

And plenty of idiots will defend this. They see themselves as temporarily embarrassed millionaires, and not oppressed and exploited members of the working class.

2011 to 2016, Amazon paid about half as much in income taxes as you did. The national rate is 35%. Amazon paid 11.4%.

So remember, when you pay taxes that go towards a global military industrial complex, and not repairing crumbling infrastructure in the United States, that Jeff Bezos didn’t pay shit. He prevents workers from unionizing, forcing them to wear diapers at work, operates throughout the entirety of the country, dominates the market, wants to become a monopoly on all economic distribution and exchange, and doesn’t pay a single fucking dime for income tax.

He could personally end poverty throughout the world. That's how fucking rich this asshole is. And instead he doesn't even pay taxes.

End capitalism if you care at all about the survival of our planet. These pieces of shit need the guillotine.
