Hawaii Officials Pass Resolution To Revive Nuclear Shelters

in #politics7 years ago

There has been a lot of talk recently about the possibility of a major military conflict (ww3?) happening in the near future. The media won't stop telling us how afraid we should be of North Korea, Russia, and other enemies. And it's got many people scared and fearing where the next attack might happen.

Folks in Hawaii are reportedly so nervous that they are now looking to update their fallout shelters.

The Hawaii House Committee just recently signaled their interest in updating the state's nuclear fallout shelters, by passing a resolution which asserts that there is an increased risk of a disaster occurring; either natural or man-made.

The resolution stipulates that it is within the best interest of the state to allocate the appropriate funds in order to update their nuclear response plan.

They are asking for the state to fund the process of updating its plans and facilities for a possible nuclear attack.

Apparently their facilities in Hawaii haven't been stocked-up since about the 80s and they have fallen into disrepair. They aren't going to get started on making those changes just yet though.

The new rules still need to pass through the House's finance committee and get approval by both parts of Congress before they can effectively become law.

Thanks for posting this. This is not an easy subject to deal with but we have to be mindful of it because it's a very real issue. I'm going to resteem this!

I guess the world is changing fast. So many elements at play. I just hope we don't end up destroying ourselves.
