in #politics7 years ago (edited)

hello steemians! the short uk election is over and the ballots are in!
update 13 - final outcome

Predictions of May weakening has come out true, this would certainly mean A tougher position of her in terms of negotiations, and what this could mean for briexit is likely a tougher more annoying work process.

uk election ends in a hung parliament, no party managed to get the required 326 seats to become a majority, this outcome will only fuel more uncertainty in May's plans for stability.

if you ask me, this feels like a huge win for labour who managed to gain a whooping 29 seats a minor government could potentially be formed here

Biggest losers of the election seems to be both conservatives and the Scottish national party, losing a combined amount of 33 seats (12 from the tories, 21 from the scottish party )

Turnout was 68.7%

As early results drifts in, sources are reporting a loss for the conservative party, as labour seemingly and shocking inch closer to the prime minister's seat!!!

It could swing both ways though!

SEATS NEEDED TO DECLARE WINNER : 326

Results: Where we stand

After 11 of 650 seats have been declared, Labour led the Conservatives 7 to 4. Neither party had taken a seat from the other at this point.
update 1

After 33 of 650 had been declared, the labour still held a good margin against the conservative party, going in at 22 to 10

could these suits be any bluer?

  • Things are too close to call in Lib Dem leader Tim Farron's seat of Westmorland and Lonsdale, where Radio 4 reports a recount is taking place.

145 seats declared and its starting to look like those predictions might just be true, the conservatives are closing the gap between them and the labour party fast. Labour 69 , conservatives 57
update 7

  • The SNP's deputy leader, Angus Robertson, loses his Moray seat to the Scottish Conservatives.
that's got to be embarrassing a whole deputy leader?

the scottish national party seems to be taking a pounding, losing 7 seats thus far

speaking of pound,

the pound has dropped two percent following the early election outcome

funny how the general though went from ''the conservatives are gonna win majority'' to maybe they'll win majoity and now, the talks that they'll win just enough seats to form a government
how soon before that turns into a maybe too?

294 seats declared, labour and conservatives are practically neck to neck 139 for labour, 120 f0r conservatives
