Oh, I hate the mandate too. In principle, it's offensive and unconstitutional to force someone to buy a product. But in practice, it's hardly the worst part of Obamacare. Obamacare, with its rules and regulations has further crushed competition in the insurance market and caused prices to skyrocket. My premiums have at least doubled since Obamacare went into effect. Unless this issue is addressed (which it really isn't in current proposed legislation) we're pretty much screwed. The problem is that if this piece of legislation is passed, Trump will declare victory and be done with it. In addition, Republicans will now get the blame for the continued disintegration of healthcare since the legislation will now be theirs.
