Representatives are Irrelevent

in #politics6 years ago

I think representatives have become irrelevent. They don't represent us. And, we don't need them to "go to Washington" for us. That was the original intention. To go where we couldn't and take a message. They were meant to be custodians too, not writing laws all the time. It's totally backwards now. We have the capability now to voice our opinion or message from virtually anywhere in the country. We can all virtually be in Washington at the same time. We can all represent ourselves.

Blockchain technology can almost absolutely eliminate fraud through decentralized proof of work. We can set up a system where our message is sent through the blockchain and the results are viewable by everyone. Completely transparent. The results can be pooled and sent to a smart contract. A smart contract based on the Constitution and Bill of Rights. The smart contract would act as a representative. It would literally be the purest outcome. We would make the decision. Not the whim of some "representative" who is sold out. Not a corporation. We could virtually, literally, eliminate the unfair power structure corporations have over all of us. One corporation would not be able to overrule the population by influencing one person. A person as a representative is a point of weakness. It's centralized. Decentralization eliminates any single point of weakness. Most laws and decisions are made when nobody is looking and nobody votes on it because it's "too much work". But, anything that affects us should be voted on. Nothing should be decided without our approval. And, nothing should be decided that we can't opt out of. But currently, decisions and laws are forced on us. Blockchain could totally change that. We could start at the community level to start ending corruption and prove it would work.
