I Wrote a Letter to Geraldo Rivera asking him to Stop Saying We "Lost" the Vietnam War

in #politics6 years ago (edited)

The other day on Fox and Friends I heard Geraldo Rivera mistakenly say, yet again, that we "lost the Vietnam War". Sorry Geraldo we quit, there IS a DIFFERENCE! In any contest the players can win, lose, or draw. It's the management that decides to quit or forfeit. In the case of the Vietnam War we didn't lose we quit. Every time I hear someone say we lost I get in their face and correct them. I would appreciate the thoughts of other vets on this.Geraldo.jpeg

Sorry Geraldo we quit,

Technically that's incorrect.

We won.

The Paris Peace Accords set forth certain conditions and parameters.

Shortly thereafter WaterGate happened. The democrats were after Nixon and intent on destroying his presidency, similar to the situation now with Trump. The Democrats reneged on the promises the United States made to the government of South VietNam. Shortly thereafter NorthVietNam overwhelmed SouthViet Nam. Unsurprisingly the 'killing fields' of Laos and Cambodia occurred at about that same time...as did the 'boat people'.

The general public didn't hear much about that until quiet some time later.

Geraldo Rivera is a liar who works for liars.
