How to spot a FAKE NEWS?

Some reminders to determine if a news article whether it is fake or not:

As we can see in social media, there are lots of fake news spreading throughout the digital world. Because it was fueled by the Government to manipulate the mind of the public.

Fake news is everywhere. Many people shared and believe some articles without checking the authenticity and some of them are just a product of troll factory funded by politicians to destruct the image of opposition party and praise the politicians who paid for them.

But how can we stop sharing and spreading fake information?

1.Do not just read the headline. Read the whole content

Is the context relevant to the story?
Is there a logical progress in the article?

  1. Know the source.

Is there a known reliability in the media ?
Is the URL looks like fake? For example:

Is the website of an article have an "About" page?

3.Check if the information of the story are supported by experts.

Is the information took from a reliable authority?

4.Is there an exaggerated or intriguing language.

Is the words being used were upset and enrage?
Is the title is just a clickbait?
Check for typographical errors as the real journalist know how to write unlike trolls who doesn't have a writing skills ?

  1. Have a Cross-checking with reliable sources.

Have you compared from other credible media outlets carry the same story?.

  1. Look at the date when the article was published.

Sometimes they use out-of-date news to create confusion and mind manipulation.

As a responsible netizen, it is our obligation to stop the fake news and promote the real news.

Once you see a dubious article,try to double-check before sharing it to avoid spreading misinformation.
