The Neutrality of the General Election Commission is being Tested

Chasing a chair for Indonesia 1 is getting hotter, both from various hoax issues played by the two successful teams of both camps. In fact, the neutrality of the Republic of Indonesia General Election Commission is questionable, even though the General Election Commission is a national, permanent and independent election organizing institution.

Trust in the General Election Commission began when 31 million voters were not included in the Final Voters List. So that the General Election Supervisory Board and political parties participating in the election issued a recommendation, so that 31 million voters who have not been registered in the Final Voters List can be re-recorded and put in the Permanent Voters List, so they can exercise their voting rights on the voting day on Wednesday (04/17/2019) later.

Not only enough in the Permanent Voters List, the General Election Commission again made a commotion about the ballot boxes made of cardboard and transparent. But this is not the fault of the General Election Commission. Because for the transparent ballot box discussion before becoming a reference, it has been sitting together between the General Election Commission and Commission 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Parliament and getting a meeting point for the ballot box must be transparent. The cardboard ballot box is not the first to be used in the 2019 General Election, but from the 2014 General Election it has started using a ballot box made of cardboard.

The commotion occurred in the past 2 days, because the General Election Commission eliminated the submission of the Vision and Mission by the two Presidential and Vice-President Candidates planned to be held on Wednesday (01/09/2019), but were canceled and not implemented. Even though it is clear in Article 274 Paragraph (1) of Law No. 7 of 2017 states that the submission of the Vision and Mission of Candidates for the President and Vice President is from the form of campaign.

Even though the delivery of Vision Missions by Candidates for President and Vice President is very important and must be put forward. Where in the delivery of the Vision and Mission it is clear that the community is better able to understand the direction of the program for the Candidates for the President and Vice President for the next 5 years.

And the last one is the debate about candidates for the President and Vice President. The General Election Commission gives a questionnaire to the President and Vice President Candidates 7 days before the candidate debate event takes place. In this way, young children can take part in the debate, because there is already a grid of questions.
