Artical 50 for the hard of thinking.
Since coming to seemit I've avoided politics and to be honest the level of posts on social media tend mainly to be rubbish with the odd exception. It's more scare stories and manufacted outrage than real political debate. This lack of real politics is something that seems to have spread out from America but has well and truely reached the shores of the UK with the right-wing newspapers and tabliods (Who were never really of a high level to start with.) grasping it and running for all their worth.
This recent story in the UK about Artical 50 though has really got under my skin, there isn't even an attempt to report any truth, just media trolling to get the masses outraged. (manufactured outrage, it makes the media moguls rich and the people stupid.) Any attempt to report a balanced story is gone and it's the media (Well the owners) who are setting the political tone and with the influence the media has perverting politics.
So Artical 50 then and what it means with the High Court ruling.
Artical 50 will, when triggered change British Law. Only an act of parliament can make or change British Law.
The Prime Minister can't legally trigger Artical 50 to leave the EU without an act of Parliament.
No if's, no but's no Royal Preogative...
THAT IS THE LAW OF THE LAND.
The High Court upheld the law of the land, there must be an Act of Parliament to change British Law.
This is what taking back our sovereignty looks like, British Law deciding our future, it's what WAS VOTED FOR when the UK voted to leave the EU, it's the will of the people.
People should have read the fine print instead of the political and media lies of how we could invest millions in our NHS.

Good post and I thought that the purpose of the vote was to order the British government to do whatever the voters said, Brexit. Remember that liberals in Britain and America are most likely two different things, two very different things.
Our liberal media paints the average, if not all Americans, as fat, lazy, stupid, uneducated, inbred, greedy, illiterate, and our Constitution as absurdly outdated, oh yes, we are all degenerates, deplorables, ugly, and they can't seem to get people to watch the Hollywood movies or the television shows that try to brainwash us with bullshit.
The vote was not binding, parliament could vote against the result but it would be doubtful that they would. It is down to things being done by the letter of the law and parliament having it's say on how negotiations are carried out.
As for how you discribe the liberal media, that echoes more our rightwing media which supports our Conservative party (They are more like the Republican party over in America.) Labour are our other main party and are a socialist party tied to the workers and unions. We do have Liberal Democrates, the Scotish National Party and others who also have representatives in parliament. It's far more varied than the 2 party system that dominates in America.

Socialism is SO ugly.
It's not socialism that has caused the fall but 30 years of Thatcherite and Blairite policies that dismantled the work done by the post WW2 governments. They all claim the centre ground but the centre ground has moved so far to the right it's now right wing.

You mean all those socialists who avoid paying taxes and then hide their money off shore and pay workers poverty wages so governments have to provide assistance so the workers can survive....

taxation is theft.
Taxation is how a grown up society operates, everyone pays in a % and society is improved for all. Avoiding those taxes is the crime as you accept the perks provided by society but don't pay your way in it.
