That's exactly right. It's been in a slow-motion collapse for a while. A big event could happen at any time, but we'll likely continue to see the stock market "melt up" due to central bank money printing to buy stocks. The price of cryptos and other assets will also continue to reflect the steady abandonment out of dollars and other national currencies.
Yes, I could postulate on how a "melt up" is possible. I can actually see how the Dow could catapult to 30,000 in a mind-bending move up.
However, I can also see a steep path down the deflation trail to 4000 like Harry Dent is predicting...

Deflation would require removing A LOT of dollars from the global economy. That's very unlikely unless they write off a bunch of debt and reneg on social security and other programs. It's more likely that they'll print more money to cover those things.
Don't underestimate deflationary forces... And once deflation gets out of control people hoard money. Deflation can just as viciously destroy an economy as inflation. And, in the case of a superpower, both deflation and then inflation can hit in a one two punch...
There's a lot of different ways and different time frames on how this can play out.
