Green and yellow actually match. The forest will be green. But if you want to succeed, you must be yellow. said a politician in my country. And his speech was greeted with great applause from the audience who heard it.

On another occasion, other politicians also joked with color, "the sky is blue, beautiful and nice in the eye of an eye."

Actually they are playing "color politics". Yellow has a political charge. Kuning is identical to the Golkar Party, while blue is identified with the PDI democrat.

"Color politics" in Indonesia can be seen in history, starting from the events of the September 30, 1965 / PKI Movement. When the Old Order collapsed and was replaced by the New Order, the colors seemed to be no longer neutral. The flag of the Republic of Indonesia is still red and white which means brave and holy. However, the red color was then distorted to such an extent throughout the New Order regime in power. The red color also seems to be a color that must be shunned, especially if it intersects with political issues or mass movements.

Actually "color politics" is very reasonable developing and developed by politicians. What is dangerous is that "color politics" then affects the basic human life. For example, forcing certain colors to be used in the daily lives of citizens. In addition to violating human rights, such coercion will eventually provide unfavorable learning, especially for children because the color of the meaning is not neutral.

In the history of politics in Indonesia, color politics was once a terror for the people. That happened in the past when Central Java Governor Soewardi made a yellow movement in his area. Ahead of the 1997 General Election, all residents in Central Java whose houses on the edge of the road had to paint the fence in yellow. Flower pots, public facilities, road markings, stalls, rickshaws, tomb fences, and anything on the edge of the highway painted yellow. In fact, the white robe of Prince Diponegoro was painted in yellow!

We understand that color can also mean symbolic or symbolic language. As long as the meaning is seen as communicative and there is no element of coercion, let it develop. Because, the color is a form of language expression too.
