Stakeholder and Lobbying meet Education
"Representation of Interests", "Public Affairs", "Political Communication or Advices" - There are many terms for Lobbyism.
In most societies, this influencing usually has a negative reputation, known by scandals and bribery.
But lobbying became an ordinary opportunity of influencing
political and economic decisions !
What is Lobbying ?!
Lobby means Stakeholder in terms of Interest Groups:
Lobbying (also Persuasion) is the act of attempting to influence the actions, policies, or decisions of officials in their daily life, most often legislators or members of regulatory agencies...

Also the original meaning of the word "Lobby" like an entrance hall, is in direct relationship to lobbyism.
Finally, a large part of lobbying is still in the forerooms of Hotels, parliament buildings and administrative institutions.
The European Union, is a good example:
Laws from the European Parliament and Council have impact on nearly
500 million Europeans.
They can't be easily replaced by national governments afterwards.
In Brussel there are about 15,000 lobbyists (70% in economic sectors)
Particularly popular for the job are former state servants, especially
politician.
They have the best contacts and a broad background knowledge, because of their former vocation.
These representatives are often unassailable and there are no
efforts to achieve more transparency.
Lots of people aren't feeling directly affected by lobbyism, maybe because the connection between the trigger and the effect is not immediately recognizable.
But in Fact :
Lobbying has considerable influence on our everyday lives...
...Up to school and university!
Recently, I talked with a friend about a few policy tasks in "social market economy".
This friend , who works at a club that stands for transparency in lobbying,
noted something within the text:
The mention of the word "initiative" related to "social market economy".
The word is not usually associated with the social market economy !
Only by certain associations which are committed to a stable market economy.
Then we looked at the source.
The material was actually from the "initiative new social market economy" , a lobbying organization that tries to extol the "social market economy" using publicity.
And this is not an isolated case.
Many teachers have problems with finding or teaching high-grade educational material.
And good learning material is expensive.
So there are forming some learning platforms which try to provide this with relevant content.
In this case e.g.:
Complan Medien GmbH has launched the platform
"schule-trifft-wirtschaft.de" [engl.: school-meets-econmy]
A way out of the cost miseries...?!
About 150 companies, including also the "initiative new social market economy".
They offer lots of different content.
More and more companies are creating this sponsored teaching material into the classrooms.
This way business associations place their political content for the target groups of students and teachers .
Not matter if, retirement, nuclear power or stock trading.
So the market economy is uncritical shown as the only economic system !
A further example are Banks Plan Games on educational institutions.
"School-Banker"
Students play bank managers.
The winners receive some Money or other prices (up to thousands of Dollars).
These contests provides attraction to the banks and polishes the bad image at the same time.
Sometimes it's also suitable to send experts from companies to educational institutions and let them teach.
Like "My Finance Coach"- Foundation is doing it.
They directly send Insurance Agents with own teaching materials to schools.
Insurance Employees thus have direct access to the students.
A quality analysis of teaching materials has shown that around 70% of the
"Deficient"- declared teaching materials have their authors in business.
The objectivity suffers accordingly.
Lobbying is an abstract concept for many people.
But it affects us in our lives, without being aware of it all the time.
