Polish-Crash-Course for Steemfest3: Bears
As you know SteemFest (an event dedicated to Steem) begins in November. I hope that there will be a lot of people in Krakow. In today's post I want to describe the biggest possible threat for participants, bears.
Bear is a mammal from the bear family occurring in Poland. Reaches up to almost 3 meters in size - it is a wild and aggressive animal. In Poland, we have two species of bears. Brown (Ursus arctos) occurring in the south of Poland (including in Kraków) and Polar (Ursus maritimus) in the north.
I am informing you that a few days before SteemFest, there is an annual Corrida, in which people flee these from these animals in the streets of cities. Tradition came from the original Spanish Corridia (the USSR had to show people that it is better in their country than in the west), but instead of bulls - there are bears.
This year Corrida is in Krakow, so there's possibility that you will be able to see these animals and they are very dangerous, last year at the party in Warsaw they've killed 14 people.
Can I protect myself from them?
The best thing when you can see a bear is running away. Unfortunately, the European Union has banned the possession of firearms, so there is no way to defend yourself. You can try buying torches at a nearby supermarket, but it does not always help (and it's very hard to light it when you run).
Basic phrases that will allow you to avoid the threat
Unfortunately, I do not know the phonetic language, so I recommend you listen to the recording in Google Translator.

An extremely rare photo of Vladimir Putin on a bear
This is not a polish bear. Polish bears refuse to bear this guy.

😍
That's true! In Poland bears are an important part of life, history and tradition. If you do not believe, just check out some names of bears that are famous all over the country - Uszatek, Colargol and Trzy Misie (Kuba, Misia and Bartek) - these three were prowling as a herd.
Bążur, czy mogę dostać pochodnię?
When you are in Poland you "must" also say Bążur when you enter the shop.
That think an old grandma, but it is view as polite in our society.
My grandmother was killed by a bear. It is really sad, because she didn't want to take part in that party. One of this monsters get out from the main street and attacked her.
