Policy Development

A good policy is a policy that takes the side of the community, where in the formulation the community needs to be involved in participatory processes, from the planning and policy design phase; substance; and implementation. In addition, the role of civil society in guarding and reviewing a policy needs to be taken into account in the form of dialog forums or consultations among stakeholders.
In policy development efforts, local governments often lack capacity in the formulation and implementation of policies to effectively solve land and forest use. In addition, civil society is also rarely fully involved in the policy-making process, so discussion forums, cooperation, and information exchange are essential to realizing equitable policies.
